KolBo Connect Get the suite
One kosher communication stack

Your whole communication, filtered to your home.

KolBo Connect brings the communication apps into one place — AI-free filtered email, real on-device SMS/MMS filtering, and a protected phone app — each held to the same kosher, frum-aware standard as the rest of your KolBo stack, and each presented honestly at its true capability on your device.

Three apps, one standard.

Each app shows its real capability per platform. Where a platform can’t do something, we say so plainly — we never show a button for a thing your phone can’t actually do.

KolBo Mail

the email app

Kosher, AI-free email — every inbound attachment and image filtered at your tier before the inbox.

iPhone & Android — no app to install

Standard IMAP/SMTP in the mail app you already have; the filtering runs on the server before mail reaches your phone.

KolBo SMS/MMS

the messaging app

Real per-message content filtering of texts and picture-messages — the strongest each platform allows.

Android — full content filtering built

The app filters the full body of every SMS/MMS, from every sender, and withholds a flagged message before you see it, at your tier. It installs with the KolBo managed-device (Device-Owner) setup — not a one-tap app (Android only grants message filtering to a device-owner app installed at setup).

iPhone — limited by Apple

iPhone cannot filter the content of texts or iMessages — an Apple platform limit, not a KolBo gap. iPhone allows labeling texts from unknown senders as junk and blocking specific numbers; no app can read or withhold message content on iOS.

pending the junk-sender + number-block app is available on the App Store at launch.

KolBo Phone

the protected phone app

The KolBo phone app — your calls, protected. Spam and robocalls screened before they ring, with a frum whitelist that always comes through.

Android — full protection built

The app screens every incoming call (neighbor-spoof / repeated-digit detection + a curated spam list), your whitelist always trumping. Installed with the same one-time KolBo device setup as the SMS/MMS app — one setup covers both.

iPhone — limited by Apple

iPhone allows blocking and labeling numbers (a Call Directory list), but not screening calls by content — an Apple platform limit. Number-level blocking is what the platform permits.

Email — filtered at the inbox

Clean mail lands in your Inbox; a flagged image is held in Review.

SMS/MMS — Android

Texts arrive; a flagged picture-message is held before it’s seen. iPhone: junk-labeling only (Apple’s limit).

Phone — call screening

Spam & robocalls silenced; the people in your contacts always ring through.

How install works — honestly, per platform.

Email needs no app. The Android apps use a managed-device setup (the only way Android lets an app filter messages and screen calls). iPhone is limited to what Apple permits.

  1. EMAIL

    Set up, no download

Get a KolBo Mail address, add it to Apple Mail or Gmail (IMAP/SMTP). Filtering is server-side.

  2. ANDROID · 1

    Get your setup code

Your KolBo account issues a one-time setup code for your device and tier.

  3. ANDROID · 2

    Factory-reset & scan

On a factory-reset Android, scan the code at setup. The KolBo apps install as device-owner; the download is verified for authenticity.

  4. ANDROID · 3

    Protection activates

SMS/MMS filtering + call protection turn on at your tier. iPhone: Mail works fully; messaging/calls are number-/junk-level only.

Why the Android apps use a managed-device setup — the honest, secure path

To read and withhold a message before you see it, Android requires the app to be the device-owner, granted only during a fresh (factory-reset) setup — the same standard every managed-device platform uses. The app download is verified for authenticity, and your one-time setup code is short-lived. We present this plainly rather than promising a one-tap install that couldn’t actually filter anything.

Download & set up — honestly, per platform.

SMS/MMS + call filtering is real — on a KolBo-managed Android device. iPhone is limited to what Apple permits. We show exactly what each platform can do and the real setup — never a one-tap promise that couldn’t filter anything.

Android — the managed-device apps

real content filtering

Two KolBo-signed apps turn an Android phone into a protected, managed device:

KolBo DPC — the filter & control brain
  • live SMS/MMS filtering — sender + keyword, real pre-delivery withhold; emergency senders always pass
  • live Call screening — spam/robocall + frum whitelist (always rings) + Shabbos auto-shutoff
  • live Device lockdown — only the filtered KolBo browser; settings locked; un-removable
  • live DNS floor — locked to KolBo’s filtering resolver
  • activates on provisioning per-message meaning filter + MMS image filtering
KolBo Launcher — the locked home screen

Replaces the home screen and surfaces only the vetted apps you’ve approved — the lockdown companion to the DPC.

How you set it up — a managed-device setup, not a one-tap install
  1. Android grants real message/call filtering only to a device-owner app, which can be set only on a freshly reset phone — so setup begins from a factory reset (or a new / depot device).
  2. Get your one-time enrollment QR from your KolBo account (it carries your family’s tier).
  3. At the phone’s welcome screen, scan the QR — KolBo installs as the device-owner app and enrolls to your tier.

Prefer not to do it yourself? KolBo or a partner can enroll a phone and mail it ready.

iPhone — what Apple allows

Apple platform limit

iPhone cannot filter the content of texts, iMessages, or calls — Apple does not let any app or profile read message content. That’s an Apple platform limit, not a KolBo gap. What iPhone does allow:

For real message & call content filtering, a KolBo-managed Android device is the platform. We won’t pretend iPhone can do more than it can.
